All will dance. Each will grow. Some will fly!
Founded in 1987 under the artistic direction of Angela Amoroso, Scripps Performing Arts Academy (SPAA) emphasizes the value of a performing arts education in balance with traditional academics. Our professional faculty nurtures students of all ages by providing high-caliber dance instruction in a family-friendly atmosphere using the mediums of dance, music, and theatre. SPAA inspires students to be great performers and great people; student philanthropic efforts have helped
raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for local organizations, including Isabella’s Giraffe Club.

SPAA offers Mommy n’ Me, Tiny Tots, Classical Ballet, Pointe, Variations, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Hip Hop, Pilates, Lyrical, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Technical Theatre, Visual and Fine Art, Violin, Voice, and Piano. SPAA produces an annual Nutcracker in Scripps Ranch and at The Grand Del Mar, The American Girl Fashion Show at the Irwin M. Jacobs Qualcomm Hall, and a variety of musical theatre productions and workshops.

The academy will be offering an all-new academic conservatory program for pre-professional students. Audition applications are currently being accepted for fall 2011.

SPAA is the official school of the nonprofit youth ballet company, Scripps Ballet Theatre (SBT). The 2011 spring season includes Pas de Quatre, Les Rendezvous, and original repetoire “Earthkalah.” For more information regarding classes, auditions, and tickets please contact us.
