La Jolla Hosts Fashion Week San Diego

Fashion Week San Diego moves to La Jolla this fall, with a series of special events and runway shows from September 28 through October 4. The events, held at La Valencia and an open-air venue on Wall between Girard and Hershel avenues, will highlight
two-dozen designers including last year’s winner A’doreus, a collection celebrating full-figured women. Other designers include 18-year-old Alexandra Marie, the youngest to show on the FWSD runway, and Black Filigree Couture, a collection by a Marine Corps vet and tattoo artist. Founded by Allison Andrews, FWSD teams up with the La Jolla Village Merchants Association for the weeklong events, with Ranch & Coast as a media partner. (www.fashionweeksd.com)   ANDREA NAVERSEN
