Win, Place or Show Off!

Just a dozen furlongs from the racetrack, Carol Bader’s Del Mar Hat Company has opened a pop-up shop in Del Mar Plaza, offering hats and equestrian finery. Bader, who began designing custom hats 20 years ago, has since branched out to resort wear and expanded her brands to such select retailers as Brooks Brothers and J. Peterman. Her roster of A-list clients reads like a “Who’s Who” of the racing world. (Bader’s business card says: “the horse lover’s hat source.”)
