Fall fashion trends, according to Neiman Marcus, include folkloric touches, flared legs, and “full-bodied reds.” Style advisor Alex Yanez presented the latest looks at Neiman Marcus Fashion Valley recently, from luxury layering to Victorian influences.

The ’70s-inspired folklorica trend, so popular this past year, continues into fall with lots of texture and embroidery and layered silhouettes that are easier and more relaxed for day, Yanez says. Pair midi and maxi skirts or flared leg pants with ponchos, capes and duster coats. Add a boot or shoe with a chunky heel and a fringed bag for a bit of fun. Rich reds are haute this fall, from claret to crimson. In contrast, winter white is white-hot, worn alone or paired with black. Also on trend are fall florals in winter garden prints.

Hosiery is back, from lace to luxury sheers, as well as skinny leather leggings worn with tunic-length dresses. Double up on earrings — the “ear candy” trend puts embellished lobes in the limelight. Also on trend: layering necklaces of different lengths — strands and strands of pearls make a statement. As for what to carry, the saddlebag rides again — it’s  the “it” bag of the season.  (619.692.9100, www.neimanmarcus.com)
