Kohill Crushes the Competition
Kohill Vineyard and Winery, a boutique winery located in Ramona, brought home a Chairman’s award and four medals from the 39th Annual Orange County Wine Society Commercial Wine Competition, the largest and most comprehensive judging of California wines in the world. This year, 2,427 wines were judged by 73 professional winemakers and/or winery principals. Kohill Winery’s 2012 Estate Refosco received a gold medal, along with the Chairman’s Award, which was presented to only 1 percent of the entries. The winery’s 2014 Estate Rosé of Refosco and 2012 Cabernet Franc also won golds. In addition, a bronze medal was awarded for its 2012 Syrah. (760.787.1042, www.kohill.com)
