Among the most famous bricks in the world are Legos. A huge number of those bricks are now in residence in a show making its Southern California premiere at the Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park. Artist Nathan Sawaya transformed the toys into versions of historic cultural images and a few even more adventurous creations, using 1.5 million Lego bricks to build a series of stunning results. See versions of Rodin’s Thinker and Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. Take a look at a multimedia collection of Lego brick-infused photography by Dean West. Don’t miss Yellow, a life-size sculpture of a man ripping his chest open with thousands of yellow Lego bricks cascading out. No kidding. 619.238.1233, rhfleet.org   DARLENE G. DAVIES
