MCASD Opening Celebration Dinner
The opening celebration dinner at the newly expanded downtown Museum of Contemporary Art campus began with a reception that welcomed many distinguished guests. Supporters then gathered outdoors to view the spectacular lighting of a Jenny Holzer light projection — the first in a series of such art projections to be sited in multiple areas of San Diego. The celebration honored many donors to the 21st Century campaign and inaugurated the Joan and Irwin Jacobs Building and the David C. Copley Building. The evening was topped with a very special dinner that featured the finest cuisine.

Flavors Of San Diego Culinary Gala
About 270 guests were drawn to the Omni San Diego Hotel, where 25 celebrity chefs from some of the town’s best restaurants began by making special hors d’oeuvres for the reception. Then, groups of ten diners were randomly assigned to beautifully decorated tables, each being the domain of one of the chefs, where they enjoyed remarkable seven-course dinners specially created by that table’s chef. The culinary experience was remarkable, and the ALF raised nearly $100,000 to help fund research.

  Amadeus 2007
Chair Reinette Levine, vice-chair Alexandra Pearson, and honorary chairs Patricia and Christopher Weil welcomed guests to Amadeus 2007, a glamorous gala celebrating Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s 251st birthday. The party took place at the Wyndham San Diego at Emerald Plaza and featured a splendid dinner and an intimate concert featuring Mainly Mozart artists. A highlight was the imaginative decor created for each table by gifted designers. The word "sumptuous" describes the glittering evening in every way.
