The Art Of Fashion Runway Show
The Country Friends, in partnership with South Coast Plaza, presented its 52nd annual fashion extravaganza at The Inn at Rancho Sante Fe. Proceeds from this year’s event benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito. Chaired by Marci Cavanaugh, the day included a luncheon, designer boutiques from South Coast Plaza, a festive runway show, and the Après Affaire Wine Tasting. Arthritis Foundation Gala 2007
Arthritis Foundation Gala 2007 took place at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine. Titled Celebrate the Freedom to Move, the event, chaired by Michael I. Keller, MD and Daniel L. Veale, featured entertainment by DivaSoul and honored Mark C. Totoritis, MD. The $182,000 raised will support arthritis research and local programs including camps for children with arthritis. An additional $29,000 raised will provide medicine to patients and free arthritis medical clinics.

Starry, Starry Night
Voices for Children’s signature fundraiser, Starry, Starry Night, brought in a sold-out crowd that enjoyed musical concerts by Augie’s Side Effect, Jason Mraz, and Left4Dead; sumptuous food by Jeffrey Strauss; and stunning views from the Mount Soledad home of honorary chair Joan Waitt. The event raised $500,000 and all proceeds will be used to provide the foster children of San Diego with the caring concern of Court Appointed Special Advocates.

2007 Old Globe Gala
This year’s Old Globe Gala was held in celebration of its season opener, A Catered Affair. Co-chaired by Karen Cohn, Deni Jacobs, and Sheryl White, the evening featured cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, and a special preview performance of the musical, followed by dinner and dancing to the Wayne Foster Orchestra. The gala celebrated the achievements of the year and supports the institution’s education programs.

The San Diego/Imperial Council of Boy Scouts of America’s auction dinner dance took place at the Fairbanks Ranch Country Club. Supporters and guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, silent and live auctions, dinner, and dancing to Jocko and the Rockets. A tribute was given to Ron Kendrick, Distinguished Eagle Scout and executive vice president and group head of all branch banking operations for Union Bank of California’s branch network.

Harvest For Hope
The Emilio Nares Foundation’s (ENF) 4th annual Harvest For Hope fundraiser took place at the beautiful Cappetta residence in Rancho Santa Fe. Supporters enjoyed silent and live auctions, entertainment by Eve Selis, and gourmet food and wine from San Diego restaurants, wineries, and beer distributors including Market, Pamplemousse Grille, Sbicca, and Chalk Hill Winery, to name a few. ENF provides medical information, financial aid referrals, and support to families in San Diego whose children have cancer.

A New PATH’s Strut for Sobriety "Path to Recovery" Luncheon took place at the Sheraton Harbor Island West. Co-chairs were Connie Conard and Gretchen Burns Bergman, with actress Mackenzie Phillips serving as celebrity honorary chair and Virginia Napierskie as honorary chair and Emerald Sponsor. NBC 7/39’s Rory Devine emceed. Funds raised support A New PATH’s efforts to reduce the stigma of substance abuse to increase access to quality addiction treatment services.
