Lux Links
The right pair of cufflinks can be the perfect complement to the other stunning jewel on a man’s arm. And let’s be honest, a little man bling can take a tux from bland to brilliant, whether jeweled with diamonds or sparkling in sterling silver. — Mia Stefanko, photo by Vincent Knakal

Patent Pleasure
There’s a reason why Catwoman dons head to toe patent leather — it’s sleek, chic, and oh-so sexy. This fall ushers in a resurgence of this glamourous evening favorite. But remember, unless you want to look like a comic character, limit yourself to one or two key accent pieces. Here are few slick options.

Good Karma
October is Fair Trade Month, and a local company is doing its part to ensure that artisans are paid a living wage and that their products aren’t made using forced or exploitative child labor. Karma Market’s main goal is to improve the lives of artisans worldwide by generating awareness around fair trade and making the handcrafted work of the artisans more accessible to the average consumer, including unique, handmade, and affordable jewelry, gifts, scarves, bags, and housewares. Products can be purchased online and at Rock Paper Scissors in San Diego. (www.thekarmamarket.com) — Mia Stefanko

Style Station
Former interior designer Kristi Steffen brings her exquisite taste to the décor and merchandise at Little Italy’s Station boutique. Steffen gutted a non-descript space on Cedar Street to create her dream shop, where old-fashioned moldings, velvety armchairs, and paint a shade or two from Tiffany blue provide a chic backdrop to clothing and home accessories that are anything but shabby. For women, Steffen stocks gorgeously girly frocks from sought-after, affordable lines such as Plenty by Tracy Reese and Ella Moss. Among the accessories are bold, multi-layered necklaces from locally based, Berlin-bred designer Micha. For men, Station carries casual street-smart looks from Penguin and Triple 5 Soul. You’ll also find fabulous housewares (plates and throw pillows), gift items, and even a few darling items for baby. "I wanted to include a little something for everyone," says Steffen with a smile.
