Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza & Grill recently celebrated the grand reopening of its La Jolla location on Pearl Street. Originally opened in 1989, this was the restaurant’s first offering, launching the company’s growth to 18 locations throughout California and Nevada. The La Jolla location closed temporarily in 2015 following a kitchen fire.

“We want to thank the community for continuing to support us year after year and patiently awaiting our reopening,” says Sami Ladeki, founder and owner of Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza & Grill. “We were always so grateful for, and aware of, the loyalty of our patrons, but truly realized the impact we had during the year we were closed. People were always sharing stories of family dinners and special memories they created at Sammy’s La Jolla.”

The La Jolla restaurant features a newly-renovated space with modern updates. The décor includes a color scheme of earth tones accented by bright coral and spice. The front patio’s vinyl lined walls have been removed, giving diners a true outdoor dining experience amid the restaurant’s signature fire pit. The La Jolla menu focuses on Sammy’s signature items with an emphasis on well-loved classics like the award-winning wood-fired pizzas, Original Chopped Chicken Salad, and the larger than life Messy Sundae.
