This month, we explored Bird Rock, a lively neighborhood increasingly known for hip boutiques, coffee shops, and crafted wines along La Jolla Boulevard. Bobbi Rocco carries cool clothing and accessories that won’t bust your budget. On a recent visit, the shop was packed with women snapping up beach bags and booties, denim cut-offs and rompers, slip dresses and swimwear, bodysuits and bling. The result is a curated collection of casual, contemporary, comfortable pieces that fit the SoCal lifestyle — a silky blouse in sherbet shades from Zadig & Voltaire, a cold-shoulder maxi from MISA, and breezy off-the-shoulder tops and sun dresses by Saylor. So they opened their eponymous boutique, Mimi & Red, in North Park in 2007, expanding to Bird Rock three years later.
