The Age of Aquarius

The ideals of the late 1960s inspired not only minds and social movements, but also a distinct fashion revolution, the ripple effects of which can still be seen on the runway and on the street today. Thrown out were the old rules and structure, giving way to looks that mirrored the liberated mindset of a generation — free flowing shapes, vibrant prints, and daring cuts reigned.

When the Beach & Country Guild hosts its 49th annual Dia del Sol on October 10, the day’s “Age of Aquarius” theme will electrify guests at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar with exciting fashion, including a few looks that take more than a little inspiration from this dynamic hippie-chic era from Joie, Johnny Was, and Roberto Cavalli, with jewelry by Kendra Scott, in the vibrant Fashion Valley Runway Show. The event, which also includes a gourmet luncheon and silent and live auctions, benefits United Cerebral Palsy of San Diego. Talk about far out! beachandcountry.org
