It’s never too early to encourage healthy habits. That’s the idea behind the Sunia Yoga’s matching “Mommy and Me” legging line founded by Carmel Valley’s Suni Gargaro, a longtime yoga practitioner and entrepreneur. Two years ago, Gargaro founded her active wear brand, which offers women’s leggings, sports bras, and tank tops in bright, vibrant colors and beautiful patterns inspired by her native India. Last summer, she expanded the brand to include kids.  “We’re just trying to promote healthy living,” says Gargaro, “having Mom or Dad lead by example. We see such huge benefits.”  Yoga gets children off video games and television, provides bonding time with parents, and helps them focus. “It teaches them how to calm down, breathe, take a moment,” says Gargaro, who has seen a positive change in her own eight-year-old son. “It has helped him move his body and his brain.” The mission of Sunia — “deep listening” in Sanskrit — is to help families form healthy mind and body practices “one little yogi at a time.” A portion of proceeds benefits programs that help children and empower women.  858.859.3301, suniayoga.com   Andrea Naversen
